Ocean Pointe

New construction of over 900 units in combinations, new construction of six unit types in four building designs. A major element of design included the lack of common element metering, which has the potential for saving the homeowner’s association several thousand dollars per month. (Est. construction cost: $200,000,000) Ewa Beach, Hawaii.

 

Ewa Villas Bachelor Quarters

Renovation of historic plantation-style 30-unit bachelor housing to comply with modern codes and requirements. Included new power service, individual unit metering and addition of cable TV and telephone wiring. (Est. construction cost $2,200,000) Ewa Beach, Hawaii.

 

Waikiki Landmark*

The innovative exterior lighting design was used to evenly illuminate they interior of the arch with the use of metal halide luminaires. Waikiki, Hawaii

Marin Tower*

The power distribution in this building was designed at 12.47 KV with Hawaiian Electric meters provided for each apartment. Honolulu, Hawaii.

Outrigger

Renovation of an occupied hotel with complete electrical service entrance replacement. Waikiki, Hawaii.

 

Seaside Suites

An existing hotel was converted into a condominium. Waikiki, Hawaii.

 

BEQ Building 1334

Conversion of a three-story concrete block walk-up with studio apartments into two bedroom units. The electrical system was completely replaced, from the service to branch devices. Air conditioning was added, and concerns about the capacity of the existing substation had to be addressed. The design did not take away any living space, unlike other designs which assigned one of the units as an electrical room. (Est. construction cost: $1,400,000) Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

 

Yamada Residence

Remodeling of a large single family dwelling of more than 5,000 square feet. The service was expanded to 400 amps to take care of the needs of the many interior and exterior load demands. Creative lighting was stressed. (Est. construction cost: $200,000) Honolulu, Hawaii.

 

Building 1335

Parametric cost estimating, including conceptual design. A three-story walk-up with about 80 units. Needed to replace a 225 KVA 120/208 volt substation with 480/277 KVA, 120/208 volts. The project was a fast turn-around job, with less than five days from start to finish. (Est. construction cost: $15,000,000) Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

 

VA Domiciliary 203S

Complete modernization of wing, fitting new electrical requirements into old envelope. Project included analysis of existing power system, upgrading it as required by the contract without destroying it. (Est. Construction cost: $737,000) White City, Oregon.

 

The Cliffs

Comprehensive electrical investigation in the wake of Hurricane Iniki to determine the extent of latent damage which had pierced the envelope of the buildings. Took meticulous random samples of electrical devices, photographically documenting the different stages of corrosion and correlating the severity of the corrosion and the breach. An extensive report was filed. (Est. construction cost: $6,000,000) Princeville, Hawaii.

 

Misawa Air Base

Due to uninsulated roogs, melted snow was running off the roofs and forming very large icicles off the edge of the roofs. Designed a roof heating system, which in conjunction with new guttering, would relieve the problem and allow the roofs to remain clear and the ice problem to be ameliorated. (Est. construction cost: $921,000) Japan.
